So sit back, relax, and enjoy some of the funniest translation jokes out there.

The Best Translation Jokes

They say that laughter is the best medicine. If that’s true, then learning a new language must be even better! Translating can be a difficult and stressful task, but it’s important to remember that it can also be funny. Here are some of the best translation jokes to help you get through your day.

The Tourist and the Taxi Driver

A tourist is visiting a new city and takes a taxi to her hotel. The taxi driver tries to make small talk, and asks the tourist where she’s from.

The tourist, who doesn’t speak the local language very well, responds “I’m from New York.”

The taxi driver, who also doesn’t speak English very well, thinks for a moment and then asks “Where in New York?”

The tourist, even more confused, responds “I’m from the Bronx.”

Again, the taxi driver thinks for a moment and then asks “Where in the Bronx?”

At this point, the tourist is getting frustrated and just wants to get to her hotel. She responds “I’m from the Bronx Zoo!”

Finally, the taxi driver understands and takes her to her hotel.

The Two Translators

A man walks into a bar and asks the bartender for a beer. The bartender gives him a beer and he asks, “How much do I owe you?”

The bartender says, “You don’t owe me anything. This is on the house.”

The man looks around the bar and sees that there are two other men sitting at the bar who are also drinking beers. He turns to the bartender and says, “I thought this was on the house. Are these other two men also drinking for free?”

The bartender says, “No, they’re not. They’re professional translators.”

The Three Translators

An Englishman, a Frenchman and a Spaniard are all in court, charged with crimes against the state. The judge asks the Englishman why he committed his crime.

“I’m not entirely sure, your honor,” he replied. “Something just came over me and I did it.”

The judge then asked the Frenchman why he did it.

“It was my passion, your honor,” he replied. “I couldn’t help myself.”

The judge then asked the Spaniard why he committed his crime.

“I don’t know, your honor,” he replied. “It seemed like a good idea at the time.”

The Funniest Translation Jokes

Laughter is a universal language. No matter what country you’re in, or what language you speak, we can all appreciate a good joke. But sometimes, jokes get lost in translation. These are some of the funniest translation jokes around.

The Two Interpreters

Two interpreters are sitting in a booth at the United Nations, both working desperately to keep up with the fast-paced speeches.

Suddenly, one of them has a problem with his headphones and can’t hear what the speaker is saying. He frantically motions to the other interpreter to take over for him, but the other interpreter doesn’t know what to do.

Finally, he just starts making stuff up, hoping that it will match what the speaker is saying. Of course, this causes complete chaos in the room, with delegates from all over the world shouting at each other in confusion.

The first interpreter finally gets his headphones working again and realizes what’s going on. He leans over to the other interpreter and whispers, “I don’t know what you’re saying, but it sounds like you’re doing a great job.”

The Three Interpreters

A conference of international diplomats was being interpreted in three languages. The interpreter for English was having a terrible time trying to keep up with the fast-talking diplomat.

At one point, the English interpreter stopped and said, “I’m sorry, I can’t keep up. Would the diplomat please speak more slowly?”

The French interpreter leans over and whispers to the English interpreter, “Tell him he should speak more slowly if he wants to be interpreted.”

The English interpreter says to the diplomat, “The other interpreters think you should speak more slowly if you want to be interpreted.”

The diplomat looks around the room and then says slowly, “I thought I was.”
