The viewer is then asked to make a move for either side. Regardless of what move is made, Donald always takes Goofy’s king (or in some cases allows Goofy to take his king), resulting in Checkmate for either player. Afterward, Mickey says something along the lines of “Better luck next time!”

The 1980s

The 1980s was a decade of change, and Mickey Mouse was no exception. After years of appearing as a supporting character, he finally got his own TV show in 1981 with “Mickey Mouse Works.” This was followed by “House of Mouse” in 2001 and “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” in 2006.
