Early Life and Career
Dan Whitney, better known by his stage name Larry the Cable Guy, is an American stand-up comedian, actor, country music artist and former radio personality. He is one of the members of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, a comedy troupe which also includes Bill Engvall, Jeff Foxworthy and Ron White. Whitney was born in Pawnee City, Nebraska on February 17, 1963. He grew up in nearby Pawnee City, where he graduated from high school in 1981. He began his career in the early 1990s as a disc jockey on a country music station in West Palm Beach, Florida. After several years working in radio, he began performing stand-up comedy.
