Did you know that guacamole is believed to have originated in Mexico? The word “guacamole” comes from the Nahuatl word “ahuacamolli”, which translates to “avocado sauce”.

Guacamole is traditionally made by mashing avocado, onion, tomato, and chili pepper together. Today, there are many variations of this popular dish, with different ingredients being added to taste.

How to Make Guacamole

3 avocados
1/2 onion
1 small jalapeño, seeded
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tomato, seeded and diced
1/2 lime, juiced
1/4 teaspoon salt
1. Start by prepping your ingredients. Pit and cube the avocados, dice the onion, and mince the garlic. If you want a little heat in your guacamole, leave some of the seeds in the jalapeño (I like to do half).
2. Add all of the ingredients to a medium bowl and mix until combined.
3. Give it a taste and add more salt, lime juice, or diced jalapeño to your liking.
4. Serve with tortilla chips or use as a delicious topping for tacos!
